I graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 1964. Earned Master's Degree in education from the University of Washington. Taught for 43 years in the Olympia School District in junior and senior high schools in social studies and English.

I am chairman of the Thurston County Historic Commission as well as the Tumwater Historical Commission.

I am now retired and do volunteer tours of the state capitol building.
